Isthmus is an ode to Catalina Island, and the upbeat, summery vibes and goofy yacht-rock-daddy lyrics transport you to paradise with a large tropical drink in hand. Think Jimmy Buffett, Mac Demarco, Myd, and Brian Wilson make a dance track aboard a Carnival Cruise ship. The song was made using a 4-track cassette recorder, analog synths, drum machines and guitars. I shot a music video on location on Catalina featuring Hawaiian shirts, snorkeling, a dance routine and plenty of sexual tension.
